Senior Deaconess Hyehwa Ahn (74, Parish 12 in Manmin Central Church)


Recently I have a regular checkup and the doctor said to me, “You have a great digestion. You could eat even a stone.” My grandchildren also say, “What a nonsense~! Grandmom looks the strongest among us for her old age.”
In fact, I was born so weak and always sick in my childhood. And I suffered various diseases in mature ages. Since I joined in Manmin Central Church, however, I was released from all my diseases and have led a healthy life. I was so happy that I could volunteer at many church events and perform various God-given duties.
It was a great joy to me to read the Bible. Years ago, someone said to me, “You have to read the Bible more than 20 times if you have 20 years of faith” and I was so touched at her words. Afterwards I started reading the Bible regularly, and I was so much blessed by God’s love letter from the Scriptures. I read the entire Bible twice a year and have much knowledge of Scriptures and stronger faith.
I happily participated in churchwide Bible-reading campaign and fulfilled my wishes and heart’s desires. On the first day of the 2023 Bible-reading event, to my surprise, my eyesight improved. I previously had to wear magnifying glasses in reading the Bible, but the letters were blurred and not easy to read. Shortly before the event began, I prayed to God, “Please let me read the Bible well.” Something unexpected happened to me on the first day of the event. I could read the Bible without magnifying glasses.
This year the sight got even better during a Bible-reading event and I’m reading the Bible for the 8th time.
In January, frequent yawning and tears caused the eyes to become sore and it brought about some troubles in the services and daily life. On January 26, I received Senior Pastor Soojin Lee’s prayer at a Divine Healing Meeting and it was gone. I give all thanks and glory to our beloved Lord.
