Senior Deaconess Inok Kang (aged 58, 2-14 Parish in South Korea)


One day in spring in 1988, an acquaintance of mine gave me Dr. Jaerock Lee's testimonial memoirs Tasting Eternal Life before Death. I emotionally read the book with tears. I eventually went to Manmin Central Church and attended Friday All-night Service. At that time he was lecturing on Job and his message was deeply profound. It touched my heart.
Afterwards, Dr. Lee appeared in my dream where he visited my place and prayed for me. Right after receiving his prayer, the fire of the Spirit was blazing and it burnt my stubbornness, jealousy, and enviousness. I had another dream where I heard a voice three times saying, "While they are saying, 'Peace and safety!' then I will come like a thief."
In July, 1988, I attended Friday All-night Service again and registered. In those days, I was having a hard time in my married life, but peace and joy overflowed in my heart from the time I realized the love of God and the Lord while listening to Dr. Lee's messages.
Above all, I was given faith and hope for Heaven and I was blessed to lead a Spirit-filled Christian life. Thus, I didn't have to worry about my husband, but I just took care of souls just as family and worked faithfully for the Lord. I ended up receiving Award of Merit as an outstanding small group leader.
In December 1994, my husband abandoned us due to his gambling addictions including horse racing. But I committed him to God and fulfilled my duty earnestly. In particular, I comforted church members who were left alone without family or had a problem with their husbands by telling them my testimony. I prayed for their prayer titles and looked after them like my family.
In 1996, the number of my group members increased 75% and I received Award of Merit as a group leader. My husband also came back five years later and has increased faith. Now he is working faithfully as a small group leader and volunteers for the sick with wheelchairs on Sundays.
My husband Deacon Samson Kim often shed tears with thanks for the love of God who forgave him who was a prodigal son and allowed him to lead a new life.
Seven years ago, I started to check and maintain the lodgings for overseas missionaries as one of the presidents of Senior Deaconesses' Association. I kept the lodgings clean and provided them with snacks and side dishes. As the lodgings numbers increased, the Senior Deaconesses' Association and elders financially supported them with many household utensils. Now there are seven lodgings so they can rest in comfort during their stay.
Manmin Central Church has approximately 10,000 branch and associate churches thanks to Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's message full of life and the ministry of power. Also, many people have been moved by Manmin's ministry manifested through books and broadcasting and visited the church. To serve them is a truly something precious that makes me happy.
My husband, Deacon Kim, also helped me carry the household and buy things for missionaries with joy. After the missionaries and members from overseas branch churches left, I with several Senior Deaconesses cleaned the rooms and washed blankets with happiness. We were joyful since they experienced the love of God and became filled with the Spirit during their stay. We helped them stay comfortably considering them our own family. And we felt rewarded seeing them feel the love of the Lord from us and give thanks to Dr. Lee. I also came to pray with my heart for the world mission as I became better acquainted with them.
I did nothing but to serve missionaries and members from overseas branch and associate churches with joy thinking of Dr. Lee's great love for them. But I also received the great prize, the Appreciation Plaque, from the church in December 2013. I give all thanks and glory to God who let me feel the deep love of God the Father who desires all men to be saved through meeting various people from a variety of nations and fulfilling my duties.
