[Engraving in Heart] Those who are thankful in all things...
Those who give thanks believe that God the Father gives them only the best things. It means that they believe God the Father’s heart is goodness and love itself. God gives us the best things for each of us during the course of our lives. You must have felt such goodness and love of the Father. Just as parents express their love to their children, God also expresses His heart-full goodness and love toward His children. The testimonies you have are the evidences. Those who understand God’s love and goodness can rejoice and give thanks no matter what trials, afflictions, or difficulties they encounter. They try to understand the heart of God who allow them to face such circumstances, and thus they can give thanks from the depth of their heart. This is the act of faith of earnest seeking of God who is spirit. That is, it’s to believe in God the Father who gives only the best things.
Those who give thanks in all things believe that God’s thoughts are higher than theirs. For example, in doing a certain work, a man who has physical limits can see only one way of doing the work. However, God who is spirit can see 2, 3, or 4 ways or more that are better than the first method. Those who believe in this God will acknowledge the fact that their idea might be different from God’s. Even if God leads them to a way that they never expected, they still give thanks. But as people become more experienced and their positions become higher, their heart is also lifted up. If they become teachers or leaders, they are likely to become spiritual adults. Rather than asking God’s will all the time, they think they know the will of God and insist upon their opinion. We must believe that God’s thoughts are higher than ours. We must pay attention to the word of God, and hear the voice of the Holy Spirit by praying at all times in Spirit.
Those who give thanks in all things obey the will of the Father God. Those who believe that God gives them the best things and His thoughts are higher than theirs, they will obey God’s will once they learn what it is. Just as God promised in Isaiah 1:19, “If you consent and obey, you will eat the best of the land,” they are given answers, blessings, and prosperity.
The more we understand the Father’s heart, the more we understand His good will and love toward us, and thereby we give thanks in all things.
