The athletic meet was commenced by the video prayer of the Senior Pastor Rev. Jaerock Lee. The 4 teams—1st Grand Parish, 2nd Grand Parish, 3rd Grand Parish, and Branch Churches—competed in good will. The games were: tug of war; balloon race; arm wrestling; 100 meter dash; long distance; and relays of different age groups. They competed in faith with love for each other and joined in laughter and fun in the Lord. The 3rd Grand Parish won the first place by winning 5 gold medals, 7 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The MVPs were Kyeongmin Lim and Jae-ah Lee who each won the long distance running for men and women respectively. The 1st Grand Parish won the women's tug of war for the 7th consecutive year! After the lottery for gifts, Pastor Soojin Lee said in the closing remarks that God covered the sky with clouds and gave us cool breezes when necessary. She also thanked all the athletes who played, the church members who cheered for them until the end, and all the workers who made this event possible.
"Won Gold Medals Side by Side with My Son!"
Daniel and Virginia
I am so happy we gave glory to God by winning the gold medal in women's arm-wrestle and my son won the gold in 100 meter dash. I won the arm wrestle 4 times this year. I prayed I didn't just want to show my strength but I wanted to give glory to God while practicing. Also, in this summer retreat my son also ran the 100 meter dash and won the gold. By the Lord's grace, he got Korean citizenship, which was extremely difficult for foreigners like us, and he advanced to high school with track and field scholarship. All his tuitions and dorm costs are paid for. He also got good results in national track and field competitions. We'd like to be a family that does not just win gold medals on this earth but advances to New Jerusalem!
