Performing Arts Committee, God-pleasing Model of Performers - In Preparation for the 30th Church Anniversary Celebration Performance
By presenting the archangel's praise, the amusement park in New Jerusalem, the banquet in the castle of the shepherd, and the like, Manmin's Anniversary Celebration Performances describe the beauty and wonder of Heaven. They have impressed audiences in ways we haven't seen anywhere else. People both in and out of Korea highly compliment songs sung in various languages, the beautiful costumes and wardrobe, the dance, and the orchestra and other instrumentals. People have higher hope for the performance year by year.
On October 7, 2012 it will be Manmin Central Church's 30th Anniversary. The church's Performing Arts Committee (Chairperson Pastor Heejin Lee) is making preparations for the Celebration Performance. The performance this year will present the beauty of Heaven under the theme of "Heaven and Earth." About 500 people are involved in devoting themselves to the fantastic performance constructing the stage, arranging praise songs, recording, dancing, practicing, and in production of props and the wardrobe.
Under the lead of Performing Arts Committee, Nissi Orchestra, choirs, and many performance teams prepare to present a magnificent performance on a beautifully-decorated special stage with wonderful wardrobe and props every year. The audience praises the performance, saying it describes well the beauty and happiness of Heaven.
The 28th Anniversary Celebration Performance in 2010 showed believers' joy and thanksgiving of entering Heaven after human cultivation on the Earth under the title of "Banquet at Sea" (Photos 1 to 3). In 2011, "Castle of the Shepherd" was performed displaying the banquet in New Jerusalem in Heaven as the 29th Anniversary Celebration Performance (Photos 4, 5, 6, 8, 9).
Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee has prayed thinking of the 150th chapter of Psalms since the opening of the church and dedicated himself to nurturing skillful praise teams and performers. The Performing Arts Committee now consists of Nissi Orchestra, specializing in praises; five choirs; 24 performing teams including Heavenly Voice Chorus, Power Worship Dance Team, Heavenly Dance Team, Crystal Singers, Sound of Light Chorus, Korean Traditional Dance Team, Love Dance Team, Serem Korean Traditional Music Team, and Brass Ensemble; 18 soloists; hair and make-up designers; and other staff members. The committee is still growing by organizing new teams. Thus, the performers try their best to achieve sanctified hearts as well as improve their performing skills.
Also, Dr. Lee has expended effort to offer up God-pleasing praises to God in this generation where even praises become stained with secular music. In an answer to his prayer, since 2009, God Himself has given the church Manmin Praise that can be sung by all people of all nations. It is just as God gave the Israelites a song so that they wouldn't forget the Law and God's love as written in Deuteronomy 31:19-22. Now the church has more than 160 Manmin songs and is preparing for the fifth Manmin album.
The Performing Arts Committee has played a significant role in improving the church members' faith. Its performers lead the preliminary praise before services, give special performances, and perform in the church events like Easter Performance, Christmas Performance, and Church Anniversary Celebration Performance.
They have shown the essence of high-quality Christian culture in overseas crusades and given great glory to God, which accelerated the world mission and boosted national prestige. The local traditional attires, dance, and their accurate pronunciation of local languages in praise brought amazement to those in attendance. By performing the Korean traditional fan dance, they introduced Korean traditions to the world and played a role of a private diplomatic envoy.
All performances of Performing Arts Committee are produced predominately with God-given songs, 'Manmin Praise'. Singing the Manmin praises, stimulates our hearts to become purified and filled with God's love. The performers will keep trying to possess the best skills ever both in spirit and body to spearhead the 21st century Christian culture.
