Urim Books Participated in the Seoul International Book Fair 2012 Dr. Jaerock Lee's 475 Volumes of Multilingual Books Were Displayed
"The Future is in Books"
The Seoul International Book Fair 2012 was held in COEX, Samsung dong, Seoul from June 20th to the 24th, with the theme of "The Future is in Books." This book fair had 580 publishers from 20 countries as participants, and as the guest of honor, Saudi Arabia proudly displayed Arabian publication culture. The display of Urim Books' multilingual books amazed many of the publishers. Thousands of people from in and out of Korea including Sonia Santiago, President of Asia Pacific Publishers Association, visited the Urim Books' booth.
Urim Books Spearheads Multi-language Publication
Urim means 'light' in Hebrew, and Urim Books has spread the gospel to the people of the whole world through Korean and multilingual book publication since its founding. Through Christian books the publication ministry serves as a great tool for the ministry in that a book is not a momentary experience because we can receive much grace by reading them anytime and repeatedly.
With Dr. Jaerock Lee's testimonial book Tasting Eternal Life before Death published as the start in 1987, Urim Books has published many books such as The Message of the Cross, The Measure of Faith, Heaven I & II, Hell, Awaken Israel, Footprints of the Lord I, Seven Churches, and Love is the Fulfillment of the Law. At the fair, Urim Books presented 79 of Dr Lee's books in Korean and 194 additional volumes of the books that had been printed in 40 languages. Additionally, 201 e-books in 32 languages and an audio book in Russian were displayed.
The Message of the Cross in 33 languages
The Urim Books' booth was constructed in the base color of white to remind us that God is light, together with various other beautiful co-coordinating colors that symbolize heavenly lights. The booth was decorated in a way to guide visitors in understanding the book translation and distribution processes of Urim Books at a glance.
In the booth's center was the publication status board that showed what book has been translated into what language among books in the current 74 languages. The Christian 'must-read' volume The Message of the Cross was on display with 32 translated volumes and gave great glory to God. Among them, Hell that has now been published in 15 languages, drew great attention from visitors, and they also showed their interest in the e-book readers in a designated reader's corner of the booth.
Kumar Vikram, Editor of the National Book Trust, India marveled at Dr. Lee's books that were published in many languages and asked Urim Books to participate in New Delhi World Book Fair 2013 held in India.
Jaroslave Olsa, Ambassador of the Czech Republic and Ivana Bozdechova, Professor, Department of Czech and Slovak Studies in Hankuk University of Foreign Studies said that they were surprised at the fact that Korean books have been translated into Czech.
Many other publishers from USA, France, Indonesia, Taiwan, and India and related firms for design and printing, and various publication companies visited the Urim Books and discussed partnership arrangements with them.
By taking part in the book fair, Urim Books will be expected to spearhead in world evangelism in the near future by publishing books in and out of Korea. So be on the lookout for books for children, students, new believers, and unbelievers; multilingual publication of books, and the production of digital contents like e-books and audio books in ever-increasing availability.
