Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee presses the button for the lights at the ceremony.
2009 Christmas Lighting Ceremony was held in front of the main sanctuary at 9:50 p.m. last December 11. The ceremony was presided by Pastor Daehee Cho, and Pastor John Kim, ministering to Busan Manmin Church, offered up the representative prayer. As the whole congregation cried out, "Faith, hope, love!" the Christmas tree was lit up with fireworks. At that moment, the Immanuel, Shalom, and Nazareth Choirs sang in unison, "Joy to the World," as the whole church celebrated the birth of Jesus who came to this world for the salvation of mankind. After a special song by Praise Missionary Iris Kim's "Feliz Navidad" (Merry Christmas), Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee gave a congratulatory message for Christmas. He said in his message, "I am thankful for the love of the Lord who came to this world 2009 years ago. He wore a crown of thorns and carried the cross to redeem us from our sins. So Christmas is a very significant and happy day for us who believe in this fact. I always become excited and joyful when Christmas comes every year, and I appreciate all the members who volunteered for the ceremony." Deacon Geunsik Park, of the Facilities Management Office, which has prepared for the ceremony every year, said, "This year's preparation was easier than last year's, because we had more volunteers, and better weather conditions, and we worked with a joyful heart, thinking about the members who would be so happy when seeing the Christmas tree beautifully decorated." The weather was warm and pleasant during the lighting ceremony, and the ceremony was broadcast live via Manmin TV and the Internet, and was rebroadcast via Manmin TV on the 24th and the 25th.
At 9: 50 PM on last December 11, as Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee pressed the button at Christmas Lighting Ceremony, where thousands of members gathered to celebrate the birth of Jesus who came to this world as the Light, all the light bulbs were lit up.
