Many people endure suffering that they expect to bring success to them. But they hesitate to do anything that profits them nothing. Those who have nothing may easily lower themselves, but those with wealth and fame may not. Jesus, though He is the Lord of all things, came to the earth in the form of a mere creature, took all sins of mankind, and died on the cross. He could do so because He didn't have 'self', such as 'my own good', 'my pride,' 'my glory', or 'my decency'. God uses those people who do not have the 'self' and will lead them to a glorious place in heaven. "Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name" (Philippians 2:8-9).
