Some feel disheartened when they come across difficulties, and they miss the 'better old days'. Far from giving thanks, they complain and grumble. They may even irresponsibly neglect or abandon their duties. But a person of goodness is able to give thanks in difficulties keeping in mind the many things he had enjoyed that were all the result of God's grace. Rather than being disheartened in times of hardship, it serves as a good opportunity for them to grasp the relative value of what they had enjoyed in the past and give heartfelt thanks to God.
