In 1967, the Six Day War, also known as the Third Arab-Israeli War, was fought between Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt (known at the time as the United Arab Republic), Jordan, and Syria. Israel had gained its independence only 20 years prior and it seemed obvious to everyone that the Arab countries were militarily superior. But Moshe Dayan, the commander of Israeli military boldly said, "We have the best weapon, so we can't help but win." Surprisingly, the war ended in six days and Israel achieved the victory. Later, their weapon was revealed in the eyes of the world. The weapon was their faith in the promise of God as recorded in the Bible that says God is with them. It is faith that leads to the victory (1 Samuel 17:47).
