'Window dressing' is something that is intended to make a person or a thing seem better or more attractive but that does not have any real importance or effect. This expression implies that inner aspect is more important than outer appearance. This applies to our lives. We need to stop boasting and avoid pretense. We must respect all people regardless of 'window dressing' of status and position. Only then, can we enjoy truly valuable lives.
"There is one who pretends to be rich, but has nothing; another pretends to be poor, but has great wealth" (Proverb 13:7).
