Some people suffer from the words that they shouldn't have spoken. To avoid speaking such words by mistake, first of all, we have to examine whether our words are true. We should particularly avoid talking about others' defects or gossiping about them. Next, we have to examine whether our words are necessary. We'd better not speak what is true but burdensome to others. And our gossip about them is held guilty before God. Lastly and thirdly, we should examine whether our words give benefits to others. Some words are necessary to others, but we need to let them sound generous to their ears. As said in Proverbs 10:19, which reads, "When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable," we always need to be wise and careful about our words.
