Deaconess Hyejin Cho, age 49, Parish 5, Manmin Central Church

I was born deaf. When I was seven, I began to wear a hearing aid on my right ear and started to hear the sounds of people, but I could not understand it. At the age of nine, I started attending church and felt peace and happiness when I learned there is heaven.

In July 2008, I was guided to Manmin Central Church with my husband. I was amazed by Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's spiritual messages such as "The Message of the Cross" and "The Measure of Faith". Pastor Junghoon Ji, my husband, also received much grace from his sermons and delivered the holiness gospel to many deaf people in Malaysia via the online video conference system. When Penang Manmin Church for the Deaf was established in 2010, my husband went to minister to the church. Since then, he has been spreading the ministry of Manmin to many deaf people in other countries including Thailand, Germany, and Denmark.

When I heard that many members were healed by Senior Pastor's prayer, and especially when deaf people including my husband came to hear by the prayer, I also wanted to hear and felt excited. In the meantime, tinnitus occurred to me in my right ear in December 2017 and I could no longer use the hearing aid. I then became earnest. When I praised in Daniel Prayer Meeting, I prayed saying, "God, I want to hear the sound of the praise." As the 2018 Manmin Summer Retreat drew near, I became more and more earnest. I wanted my ears to open and longed to help my husband serve deaf members with sign language service. I offered up prayer and fasting.

On the first night of the retreat, Rev. Soojin Lee prayed on the stage for the sick with the handkerchief on which Senior Pastor had prayed (Acts 19:11-12). I also received the prayer of Manmin Prayer Center President Boknim Lee. When she laid the handkerchief on me and prayed, the fire of the Holy Spirit came upon me and a sound of 'Bang!' was heard. The next day, I did not wear the hearing aid but I could hear the praise through my right ear!

I can hear now. I am so happy and full of grace. I now offer up the prayer of thanksgiving to God with tears. I give all thanks and glory to God who worked on me with the power of re-creation that regenerated my dead nerves and allowed me to hear.
