Retinal detachment and eyeball atrophy, Not a problem for God!

~ Gun-wee Park
(2 Middle School Mission; 7-23 Mission)

Having undergone a cataract surgery on his left eye at the age of three, Park had been suffering as side effects of that surgery a severe case of uveitis (an inflammation of the middle layer of the eye) and retinal detachment (a disorder of the eye in which the retina peels away from its underlying layer of support tissue), and when these two conditions worsened he began suffering from eyeball atrophy, which contracts the eyeball. Left unchecked, a procedure to insert an artificial eye would have been required.
Finally in 2006, Park became completely blind in his left eye and the vision in his right eye deteriorated so considerably that he began to suffer at school and in everyday life.
Then on July 22, 2007, Park received Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer and, upon feeling a sharp pain at first, he began to see a light creeping into his left eye as he began to see objects. A test revealed that the vision in his left eye was 20/200. Another miracle was that prior to receiving prayer, the intraocular pressure stood at 4 but after receiving the prayer it was at 18.
The intraocular pressure for an average person is between 10 and 20; the fact that Park's intraocular pressure had been at 4 reveals that his eyeball had been contracted, and the fact that his intraocular pressure rose to 18 suggests that the left eyeball is now normal. On top of that, his vision in the right which had been 20/200, is now at 22.5/25.
Park's case was presented at "The 1st WCDN Southeast Asia Conference" held in Jakarta, Indonesia, November 2-3, 2007, and applauded as "a miracle" by local ophthalmologists in attendance.
