Elder Nak Hoon Seong (Senior Partner, Manmin IP & Law and Patent Attorney)





In February 2003, I started up Manmin IP & Law to contribute to our society as an expert in intellectual property field and support the missionary works through receiving financial blessing. While I received such blessings, I came to have hope for the blessing of my soul's prosperity which is true blessing given by God.


I listened to Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's sermon series, 'Seed of Life' ten times

During Friday All-night Service in April 2010, Dr. Lee urged us to listen to his sermon series entitled 'The Seed of Life' among lectures on Genesis ten times and to put emphasis on understanding the message. I obeyed and listened to the message ten times. In the meantime, I happened to ponder upon the passage, 3 John 1:2. It says, "… in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers." I came to think to myself, 'I should clearly understand how to let my spirit and soul prosper.'

Then, I began to arm myself with the Word of God. I started with theme sermon series. First, I listened to the messages online through the church's website and received a lot of grace. Next, I downloaded their scripts and thoroughly read through the copies. Then, I summarized the messages a few times. Lastly, I got the gist and wrote it down. Generally it took an average of about 15 hours to study and summarize a session in the series and make notes of it.


My spirit and soul prospered by studying the Word of God for seven hours per day.

It was in this manner that I armed myself with the Word of God. I intently studied the messages such as 'The Love Chapter' (20 sessions), 'The Measure of Faith' (27 sessions), 'Seven Spirits of God' (3 sessions), 'Beatitudes' (9 sessions), 'The Nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit' (9 sessions), and 'Goodness' (17 sessions). I focused on the messages and repeated my study of them. I also prayed every night holding the messages during Daniel Prayer Meeting. I prayed fervently thinking of my sin and evil that I discovered through the messages. I could feel untruth in my heart going out from me one by one and at the same time the truth was coming into my heart. So the prayer time was so precious.

I found and threw away ill-feeling, self-righteousness, and peace-breaking untruth. I spent seven hours a day studying the messages for the first six months. The total amount of time that I put in arming myself with the Word of God was around 1,000 hours. Then, the spiritual confidence fell upon me. And, as the head of my family I could have my family members realize the importance of arming themselves with the Word of God.

My wife, daughter, and son were impressed by me, and they followed my example. They tried hard to arm themselves with the Word of God through Dr. Lee's books and sermon series. We shared the grace of God talking about what we realized through the messages in family gatherings. We encouraged each other to be more perfect before God. In this way, we became united as one in spiritual love. All family members' fervor to reach the level of spirit became higher and higher. We were so happy with hope for New Jerusalem.


God has led us to the way of blessing both in spirit and body

At the end of 2011, blessings beyond imagination came to my business. I happened to enter into a contract which would profit my company by around 17 million dollars in the trade business division which had remained in a lull. It was a turning point that would open the way to the international market. Meantime, my employees and I became more united as one and came to serve each other with love.

Abundant blessings have been overflowing in my family. Sister Dakyoung Seong, my daughter, had studied at Ehwa Woman's University with hope that she would be used by God in a precious way. She has studied in the U.S. now since August of 2011. Her way has been made prosperous by the love of God while she's been there. She is greatly loved by friends such that she has been close with hundreds of students. She cried out in prayer every night. She is more fervent than when she was in Korea. She attends all services and Daniel Prayer Meeting of Manmin Central Church via Internet longing for the heart of spirit.

Brother Haeun Seong, my son, has been elected as a president of his mission in 2012. He was also accepted at Konkuk University. He continuously led a good Christian life even when the college entrance exam was around the corner. When he got back from school late, he prayed for at least an hour a day and armed himself with the Word of God. Now he wants to be a pastor who leads many souls to the arms of the Lord. Nowadays, he is focused on the Word of God and prayer all the more to become a God-pleasing pastor. I am proud of him.

Senior Deaconess Ilseon Kim, my wife, is a member of Prayer Devotees' Mission and performs her duty with happiness. She has been chosen as a vice-president of the Prayer Devotees' Mission whose members pray for the country, church, pastors, world mission, and sanctuary construction. She prays to become a bigger vessel that can harbor many people. She often sheds tears being moved by the love of God during prayer. She said she could feel her spirit and soul prosper praying like that.

I give sincere thanks to Father God who has given me my wife who supports me with prayer and my children who have grown up well in the Lord. I extend my thanks again to Father God and the Lord for guiding us to stay in His love and grace all the time. I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to Senior Pastor Dr. Lee who has led us the way of spiritual blessing and prayed for us. I believe blessings have just begun in earnest. Opening the New Year, 2012, I am looking forward blessings that God will give to our church members. Hallelujah!
