Brother Kwanduk Yoon (age:73, 13th Parish)

My father died when I was 8 years old, and my mother died when I was at 12. I had three younger siblings, so I had to get a job shortly after graduating from the elementary school. I began to work at a bookstore my relative was running. I did various chores including cleaning the bookstore by daytime, and studied hard by nighttime. Because I studied with zeal, I could enter a college easily.
After enrolling the college, I went to the military service. I wanted to study after completing the military service, but I had to give up studying at the college and instead earn money because I had no tuition fee. I was employed at a shoes' shop that dealt with a famous brand "Esquire" in Seoul and dreamed of the bright future, even though I had to give up studying. It happened when I was 24 years old. Five years later, I was found stricken with acute lung tuberculosis and received medical treatments at the Seoul Central Area City Hospital for one and half a years.
After discharging from the hospital, I was so skinny and exhausted in mind and body. I had to restore my health prior to making a living. I searched for a good Buddhist temple and stayed there for a few months, and then lived in a fishing village for 2 years. Through such a life, I could recover good health. In 1970, I came back to Seoul and began working at a famous shoes' shop 'Eiffel.' I earned much money and led a gay life in sex and drinking. Thus, I lost a proper timing for marriage and cut off all communications with my family because I felt shy that I was leading a fast life.
Finally, I lost my health, so I quit my job. I entered into a small business and managed to make a living. I spent my 40 years that way, and now I am in 70s. On April 20, 2009, I went to the hospital for medical checkup because of high blood pressure and diabetes. But I was diagnosed with liver cancer. I was greatly shocked and tried to forget it by drinking a lot. I received medical treatments at the hospital and was examined again. There was no hope for recovery.
On May 9, 2009, I met with Deaconess Soonduk Park and was guided to Manmin Central Church by her. Listening to the messages preached by Dr. Jaerock Lee, I realized the answer to fundamental questions in life. True peace came upon my mind. Deaconess Park gave me various audio tapes including The Message of the Cross, and I did my best to put the Word of God in action.
And I attended daily divine healing meeting held in Manmin Prayer Center, and sincerely repented that I had not believed in God but lived a gay and fast life. My heart was filled with thanksgiving and joy. On June 14, I went to the hospital for regular evaluation, and the result was amazing. The doctor said there was no proof of liver cancer recurrence, the function of liver was normal, and I was the same as a normal person in everyday life and work. He added I would completely recover soon only if I maintain the condition.
I said, "I've got a new life now," holding the doctor's diagnostic document, and my heart was filled with thanksgiving and joy. After coming out of the hospital I stood at a corner of the hospital park and welled up many tears. I lifted up my hands toward the heaven and called, "God! Oh, God!" My heart became filled with the hope for Heaven and the love for the Lord.
In the twilight years of my life, I came to become a child of God! I have also recovered the communications with my younger brother who had been severed for a long time, and reconciled to him in love. 'God! I really thank You.'
