Qualifications for Workers

The Lord gave us the love of the cross. Anyone can become workers who please God if they take care of souls with the heart of the Lord. Now, let's check the qualifications for workers and thereby become Christ's good workers and be joy and pride for God.

First, do you cry out in prayer and pray unceasingly?

1 Corinthians 4:20 says, "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power." If a worker does not pray, it means that he or she works with his or her wisdom and power, not with God's power. Only when workers receive the power from God, can they break Satan's schemes and lead souls to salvation. (Ephesians 6:12).

God's workers should meditate on the Bible day and night and pray to live by the Word always. And, only by crying out in prayer do they hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and receive the urging and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Only then can they understand the will of God clearly and receive His power. Thereby they can take a lead in the salvation of souls.

Second, do you keep the Lord's Day holy?

Remembering Jesus overcame death and resurrected and keeping the Lord's Day holy is our deed of faith by which we are able to acknowledge God's spiritual authority. Remembering and keeping the Lord's Day holy is the fourth of the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20).

From Monday to Saturday, we work diligently for six days and on Sunday we should offer up worship services, pray, and share love with other believers. We should abstain from worldly pleasures, and neither sell nor buy things. We do not skip Sunday Service due to other events.

Third, do you give the whole tithe?

The God of love wants to give as many blessings as possible, but since He is also the God of Justice, He gives blessings when we sow by faith according to the spiritual law. Giving a tenth of our income to God is the deed of faith by which we acknowledge God's material authority.

Therefore, the tithe is closely related to salvation. We have to put aside the tithe first and then use the rest of money. If we do not offer up whole tithes, it means that we rob God. When we give not only a tenth of our salary but also a tenth of all income including gifts we received and meals someone bought for us, we can say we give a whole tithe.

Fourth, do you fight against sins to the point of shedding blood?

After we listen to the Word of God and realize the truth, we have to pray fervently and try to cast off every form of evil, even sinful natures. If we judge and condemn others but we do not consider it serious, we are not fighting against sin to the point of shedding blood. We may judge and condemn others repeatedly in similar situations.

If we find ourselves judging others again although we repented rendering our heart and kept it in our heart, we have to try hard to remove the sinful nature even by offering up vowed fasting and prayer. When we try our best, the Holy Spirit will help us and God's grace and strength will come upon us so that we will be able to cast the sins away and become sanctified.

Fifth, do you sacrifice yourself, obey, and work faithfully in all aspects?

In order to achieve the will of God, we need to obey the Word in the Bible. We should speak and behave in the truth. We should not insist on our own righteousness, but obey following the order. Then we can become God's workers who resemble the Lord (Matthew 12:30).

Faithfulness is to do more than things entrusted to us as well as to fulfill our duties. Therefore, to work faithfully in all aspects means to fulfill our duties in all respects that we are assigned including in the church, family, and workplace. For this, we have to sacrifice our time, money, and efforts.

Sixth, do you harbor many souls with love and virtuous generosity?

Love and virtuous generosity are qualities workers must have. If you as God's workers have spiritual love, through you souls can have life and change their hearts. Just as the heart of parents holds their children, such workers always hold the souls in their hearts. They understand others' shortcomings and embrace them so they do not break peace with anybody, which requires them to have virtuous generosity. One who has such love and virtuous generosity does not judge or condemn others with evil, so the people around them have rest and peace. Many people come to naturally rest in them.

Seventh, do you have leadership to help achieve a goal?

Leadership is one's ability to have his group members work effectively to achieve a goal with the most satisfaction. So, a church worker should have this leadership so that he can understand God's will, present a proper goal to the members, and lead them to participate in accomplishing the goal. The spiritual leadership does not come from one's personality or nature. It comes from their desire to obey the will of God and the extent that they rely on God.

Eighth, do you humble yourself before God and serve souls?

Humbleness is to exalt others and lower oneself. When his faith grows and his spiritual experiences increase, he comes to find that what he has known and experienced is just a small part of the vast spiritual world. Then, they are able to demolish their speculations, frameworks of thoughts, and common sense.

If you humble yourself in this way, others' shortcomings will not be seen. If you see some, you will understand them and pray for them. You always consider others better than you, so you will follow them. Thus, although you are given a great power, you will not misuse the authority and will listen to the words of a little man.
