People Who Stand Outside the Boundaries of Salvation

Any believer in Jesus Christ can be saved and enter Heaven. If we have lived a complacent life thinking we were saved but will not be able to gain salvation, what a great shock to us it would be!

The God of love told His children who accepted Jesus Christ and received the Holy Spirit, "Do not quench the Spirit" (1 Thessalonians 5:19) and "Now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12). What kinds of people are outside the boundaries of salvation? Check yourself, and if you fall in any of following cases, repent and gain the chance of salvation.

People who do not believe in Jesus Christ even after hearing the Gospel

John 3:18 says, "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Although a person may not yet have accepted the Lord, the judgment of Hell has not yet come upon him, so if this is your situation, accept the Lord quickly and receive salvation.

People who are forced to attend church or who attend church for some personal benefit

Some people are coerced to go to church without faith because of their wives, parents, or children or they attend for their personal benefit.

Most of these people do not try to believe in the living God. Even though truth is preached in the church, they just doubt. They pass judgment and say something is not right just because it does not agree with worldly thought and theory.

No matter how long they have attended church, they cannot receive the Holy Spirit nor can they have spiritual faith. Instead they form synagogues of Satan that cause dissensions in the church and disturb God's kingdom.

Some people think of the church as a place for social life or a place to get some peace of mind. They are not interested in spiritual messages on salvation, Heaven and Hell, or holiness. They are interested only in friendships, their businesses, or worldly fame.

Some people go to church only to receive blessings on this earth. They consider Christianity to be no more than one of many religions and the Christian life as a simple religious activity.

Their goal of attending church is not in Heaven, but the earthly life. They cannot have faith to receive salvation though they attend church as a result of putting their minds on the blessings on the earth.

People who don't have faith or they lost it because of ignorance of the truth

These people have the willingness to receive salvation and they also believe in Heaven and Hell, but they don't know the truth properly.

So they don't know exactly what faith is and how they can receive salvation. They just vaguely think they will be saved if they attend church. There are many people who believe that they can be saved once they have accepted the Lord and received the Holy Spirit.

Even after accepting the Lord and having become children of God, they still commit sins following their old way of life. However, after we accepted the Lord, by listening to God's Word we must cast away the sins and evils that we have committed from birth.

God is holy and perfect, so as His children we should be holy and perfect. But some believers, though they learn God's Word, are no different from the worldly people. They just commit sins and are not even aware of sanctification and that they should cast off sins.

It is because they do not realize that whether they practice the Word or not is directly related to salvation. Also, many people just have lukewarm faith in Christ and love the world without knowing that the dwelling places and rewards in Heaven will be different according to each one's measure of faith. God clearly said if anyone loves the world, the love of God is not in him.

It is difficult to meet with a guide who teaches them the truth correctly, and it is even more difficult to understand and believe the truth by themselves. So they may think that they lead a life of faith, but they have more interest in this earthly life than in the heavenly kingdom.

Also, even though they are taught with the truth, it is difficult to believe it with the heart without spiritual experiences. Namely, they cannot really feel Heaven and Hell in their hearts. By some tests or trials, they will soon stumble and depart from salvation. Moreover, if a leader distorts the truth and teaches something that is not true, it can have devastating consequences.

People who commit sins and depart from salvation knowing the truth

This case is different from that of a person not being able to live by God's Word because they do not know the truth. These people know the boundaries of salvation, and they also have had spiritual experiences. But they choose to depart from salvation (Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26).

Some people lead a passionate Christian life with fervor after they accept the Lord. They try to live by the Word and work faithfully for God's kingdom. But then, they commit a grave sin at one point in time and as a result they lose the fervor. Or, they take the world back in little by little and their zeal cools down. They just stay at the level without repentance, get stained with sins and evil, and lose faith for salvation. In this case, the Holy Spirit may be quenched.

Therefore, we should understand what sin, righteousness, and judgment are and watch over our hearts with the truth until we achieve a sincere heart in full assurance of faith by the Holy Spirit's power. Unless we diligently cast off sins, we may fall back into the old habits, take in the worldly pleasure, and commit sins.
