Awardees' Interview

2011 Plaque of Recognition Winner - Pastor Dr. Soojin Lee

Pastor Dr. Soojin Lee is Vice Chairperson of the United Holiness Church of Jesus Christ, General Leader of all parishes of Manmin Central Church, and President of Pastors' Association. She has received the 2011 plaque of recognition in the recognition of her contributions through GCN TV sermon programs to the world mission and the members' spiritual growth.

1. Congratulations! Would you please give us a few words concerning the award.

I want to give all thanks and glory to Father God first. I could receive the 2011 Recognition Plague because of Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee who has shown a good example of how to live for the church and church members with love and devotion. I will work faithfully with a thankful heart for the kingdom of God in 2012 and until the Lord comes back.

2. Your TV sermons entitled 'Beatitudes' and 'Flesh and Spirit' have been extending a lot of grace to viewing audiences. Is there any specific reason for you to have chosen these particular sermon series?

'Beatitudes' has been delivered by Dr. Lee a few times. Together with 'The Love Chapter' and 'Nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit', these are significant and important message series for us to become men of spirit and whole spirit. I came to know that Dr. Lee's sermon program series couldn't be broadcast because the image quality was quite poor. At the critical moment when the members were eager to change, I wanted to deliver his message to them so that they could change quickly through the sermons on Beatitudes.

The messages preached in Manmin Central Church are not the explanation of the Bible's literal meaning, but spiritual messages explained by God and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Among these messages, 'Flesh and Spirit' was preached by Dr. Lee in 1996. This series is the Christian's 'basics'. They tell us how to cast away flesh and become men of spirit. In addition the messages clearly illustrate the spiritual meanings of the flesh, the spirit, works of the flesh, and things of the flesh. So I hoped that by delivering the messages newcomers and other church members would be able to understand Dr. Lee's other messages preached in our church.

3. Your messages are very clear and understandable; many members have received a lot of grace. How have you prepared for the sermons?

Before I delivered the message, I prayed first. I prayed thinking like this, 'What kinds of messages does God want to give our church members? Which messages are the most necessary for them?' Then, the Holy Spirit guided me and gave me the title, the scripture, and the contents of each of the sermons. I prepared for the sermon with the truth cultivated in my heart and added some analogies and anecdotes about members' thoughts, heart, and things that happen in their lives so that they can easily discover themselves. Actually, it is like I was just being guided in cooking spiritual food with the messages delivered by Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee as basic ingredients and the Holy Spirit helped me with the cooking.

4. A number of members have been striving to arm themselves with the Word of God. How can they enjoy it more?

It will be better for you not to think of studying the Word of God as homework. Instead, think of it as making you men of spirit. Then, you can enjoy it more. What you should be aware of here is that you have to 'arm' yourselves with the Word, which means you have to apply the Word to your hearts and actually practice it in your lives.

When taking notes, please try to underline what you are short of to achieve perfect goodness and love and pray holding it. Such prayer piles up on prayer, and then the truth that you stored as knowledge will be completely yours and changes begin to happen in you. This is the process to 'arm' oneself with the Word of God. Only then, can you teach your flock and have strength to change them. In this way 'arming oneself with the Word' is the way to change and become a spiritual warrior. By realizing this, I hope you will enjoy arming yourself with the Word of God with happiness and joy.

5. What is the most memorable ministry in 2011?

I keep the TV sermons in my mind. While preparing for the sermon series, I came to realize the value of the holiness gospel and the significance of Senior Pastor Dr. Lee delivering such messages. I also came to have deeper love for the church members who would watch the sermon series on GCN TV. In addition, I gave prayer with greater love for other church members, church workers, and viewing audiences who would watch them. I felt grateful to God who allowed me to deliver the messages through GCN TV and to serve Manmin Central Church which is evangelizing the world with the holiness gospel and the amazing power and is leading countless dying souls to the way of Heaven.

6. Do you have anything to say to the whole members of church as a General Leader?

Watching such a rapid spiritual flow in 2011, I gave thanks to Dr. Lee who has tried his best to change the members and Manmin members who have obeyed his words. This spiritual flow will continue in 2012 and until the Lord comes back. I hope you will have hope for New Jerusalem and run this race of faith more diligently. Hallelujah!

Sister Gayoung Ryu Won the Grand Prize - At the 2011 Special Daniel Prayer Meeting

In Manmin Central Church, Daniel Prayer Meeting is held every night except for Friday. It starts at 9 P.M.. Mrs. Boknim Lee is the Payer Center president and leads the members in seeking the kingdom and righteousness of God. Also, there are Special Daniel Prayer Meeting held twice a year, which encourages all members to participate and has Awards Ceremonies. Let's take a closer look at the testimony of Sister Gayoung Ryu who received the grand prize in the Double-session Consecutive Special Daniel Prayer Meeting.

"Thanks to the Mini Crusade with Senior Pastor Dr. Lee, I could change and received this prize. The crusade made me turn over a new leaf. Dr. Lee has held the crusade to help students keep faith in the world stained with sins and evil and separate themselves from secular lives. He has led us to become God's children who are loved by God.

I hadn't led a proper Christian life from the time I was in middle school. But I happened to see Dr. Lee's tears in the Mini Crusade. He taught us Heaven, Hell, sins, and the love of God and the Lord. He moved my heart. I could feel his great love from the bottom of my heart.

Then, I started to actively take part in New Jerusalem Campaign which includes a few rules such as no secular programs on TV, no gaming, and the use of socially polite words to friends. I came to worship in spirit and truth during services, pray, serve my mom, and study hard.

Now I am filled with hope for New Jerusalem. I became confident in doing things and feel so happy and thankful to God. I believe the Lord gave me this prize because He is pleased with my changed life and wants to encourage me to keep my steps moving forward."

# Prize Winners at the Bible Quiz Contests

Deaconess Eunseon Lee (Grand Prize Winner, the 11th Bible Quiz Contest)

I was awarded the Participation Prize in 2010. Then, I prepared for the following year's contest with all my heart. I gave services, prayer, and praise with my heart and tried hard to cultivate my heart into goodness. By doing so, I could feel my love for God, the Lord, and the shepherd was getting deeper and deeper. I felt so grateful for the Grand Prize. What's more, my parents came to lead diligent Christian lives after that. I also was elected as the vice president of Mary's Mission in 2012. Blessings both in spirit and body overflow in my life.

Pastor Huengyong Park (Grand Prize Winner, the 8th Bible Quiz Contest)

I've steadily memorized the Bible passages. As a result, I have advanced to the final round every year since the 3rd Bible Quiz Contest and received the Grand, Golden, Silver, Bronze, and Participation Prizes. I am very excited when I recall suitable passages for members while I lead the visitation service.

Deaconess Sujin Jang (Golden Prize Winner, the 10th Bible Quiz Contest)

I won no prize when I focused only on memorizing word by word. On the other hand, I won the golden prize in 2010 when I memorized the Bible verses praying to cultivate my heart with the verses.

6) "For it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer." (1 Timothy 4:5)

The members of Daejeon Manmin Church said God has washed their hearts with His Word and allowed them to come out as His sanctified children as He was pleased with their deeds.

The members have strived to arm themselves with the Word of God reading the Bible and Dr. Jaerock Lee's books and summarizing the sermons. Their interest has been placed only in shining the world as God's true children, preparing for the era of the Canaan Sanctuary, and reaching the most beautiful place in Heaven, New Jerusalem.

Just as it goes that the darker it is, the more brightly light shines, from their hearts the light of God's Word shines brightly in this darkening world. They confess they are very happy in arming themselves with the Word.
