Special Grace Pastor Grace Lee Has Experienced at Nepal Manmin Mission Center

On May 31, Pastor Grace Lee, who has been serving the Lord as a missionary in Nepal, visited Korea. The overwhelming majority in Nepal follow Hinduism and there is the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama in it. The Nepal religiosity is as follows: 80.65% of the population believes in Hinduism, 10.7% Buddhism, 4.2% Islam, 0.5% Christianity, and others. Pastor Grace Lee is serving at Nepal Manmin Mission Center spreading the gospel and trying her best to save many Nepalese souls with the heart of Jesus Christ. This visit was paid with her coworkers, Elder Bhabindra Rai and his wife, and on June 23 she returned to Nepal. She confessed she had never felt burdensome or difficult in her ministry in Nepal but been filled with joy and many special graces of God.

Question 1 : "I heard you had a dream to help the poor and the needy even before you came to believe in the Lord. What caused you to go to Nepal as a missionary?"

Even before I came to know the Lord, I had a dream of helping those who are poor and needy but live in a remote place. Meanwhile I began to attend a Presbyterian church because of my personal afflictions.
Afterwards my elder sister guided me to Manmin Central Church and I was so touched at Friday all-night service. In December of 1999, I registered as a regular member of Manmin Central Church and later heard about MMTC (Manmin Missionary Training Center). I served MMTC as a managing staff and coordinated two mission trips to Nepal for a few years. But no one came forth to go to Nepal as a missionary. My heart became upset and distressed. From that time I prayed to be commissioned as a missionary to Nepal and my heart became more fervent for missionary works. At last in November of 2005, I was commissioned to Nepal.

Question 2 : It's not easy to do ministry in a nation where Christianity is less than 1% of the population. How could you overcome difficulties with faith?

Until a few years ago Nepal was the only kingdom of Hinduism and monarchy, so the spreading of the gospel was strictly prohibited therein.
When I first flied to Nepal in 2002, I found secret policemen were watching over the gathering of 5 persons or the above. Spreading the gospel seemed impossible to me. But when I came back to Korea, the Holy Spirit strongly moved my heart and urged me to prepare for every detail to be sent to Nepal as a missionary.
On November 27, 2005, I boarded on the plane to Katmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The social problem and unrest had worsened when I arrived. Apart from spreading the gospel, opening doors or windows and going out to the streets were even prohibited.
Every week I wrote a letter explaining about Nepal's political and social situations to Senior Pastor and asked him to pray. Through his prayer the social and political situation began to change. In 2006, a decade-long People's Revolution by the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) along with several weeks of mass protests by all major political parties of Nepal culminated in a peace accord, and the ensuing elections for the constituent assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of the abolition of monarchy and the establishment of a federal democratic republic in May 28, 2008.
According to this great shift in Nepal, the liberty of religion was given and spreading the gospel was allowed. The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) won the largest number of seats in the Constituent Assembly election held on April 10, 2008, and formed a coalition government which included most of the parties. Thus, political tensions and consequent power-sharing battles continued in Nepal. I left everything to God and sent a prayer request to Senior Pastor. Whenever he prayed, God answered transcending time and space and protected me in His ways.
In May of 2009, the Maoist-led government was toppled and another coalition government with all major political parties barring the Maoists was formed. General strike broke out over the whole land and all governmental offices and shops were closed, and public transportations were stopped. Nepal Manmin Mission Center was in front of the demonstration square. Whenever a myriad of Maoists from the countryside gathered at the square, they forcefully occupied many churches for their sleep. They had the exact knowledge of the number and location and pastors of the churches.
But to our amazement, Nepal Manmin Mission Center was completely protected from their forceful invasion in the protection of God. On Friday, May 7, many Maoists were demonstrating at the square, and I was scheduled to hold handkerchief healing meetings and to lead 3-church joint summer retreat from two days later. The schedule could not be confirmed because of that demonstration.
I immediately sent my prayer request to Dr. Jaerock Lee and received his time-and-space-transcending prayer during the Friday all-night service. A few minutes later I received a phone letter from a pastor of our branch church.
This amazing work of God caused all pastors and believers of the 3 branch churches to become united in faith and prepare and attend the summer retreat and handkerchief healing meeting with a longing heart. As a result, since the founding of Nepal Manmin Mission Center, the most people gathered and many people were healed and gave glory to God.
Katmandu is located in the height of 2,000 meters at the sea level, so if clouds begin to form, rain comes instantly. During the summer retreat, dark clouds began gathering and it started raining, too. I lifted up the handkerchief Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee had prayed on and prayed with a few pastors and many believers, and a little while later the clouds disappeared and rain stopped. We greatly rejoiced and glorified the holy name of God.
Last year I once visited the western areas of Nepal including Gorka and Tumi to hold handkerchief healing meetings and pastors' seminars. In the middle of going up to such a mountainous area, we had to get off the bus and walk up the mountain. Robust men did not only take missionary materials but also a female pastor and I carried 20 books of The Message of the Cross and thousands of copies of Manmin News and many copies of DVD "The Power of God" and mounted the lofty place for 8 hours. None of us felt it heavy. In this way, we were happy because God gave us strength and power to overcome all difficulties.

Question 3 : Could you tell us about the ministries you are doing at Nepal Manmin Mission Center?

The ministry of Manmin in Nepal began in 2000 when Pastor Taesik Gil ministering to Daejeon Manmin Church conducted the Pastors' Seminar, and in 2002 MMTC's mission trip was held there.
And in 2005 and 2006, handkerchief healing crusades and pastors' seminars were held by Pastor Hyunkwon Choo and Pastor Mikyung Lee, and since then the holiness gospel and God's powerful works have spread to many corners of the land of Nepal.
As of 2010, the congregation of Nepal Manmin Mission Center is 100 members, and we have 39 branch churches and 5 associative churches. One of the main ministerial strategies of Nepal Manmin Mission Center is the broadcasting ministry via GCN-Manmin TV. We are attending the worship service of Manmin Central Church that is broadcast live on GCN-Manmin TV via the satellite ThaiCom5. The church members are experiencing changes in their spiritual lives listening to the messages of Dr. Jaerock Lee and receiving healing and blessing through his prayer, in which a mighty rushing wind of the Holy Spirit is sweeping across the land of Nepal.
