Kijoo Song (Age 75)

In the past, nothing went well for me. I always had financial difficulties, and my heart also became increasingly hardened. I also doubted my wife in everything. I'd get drunk and become violent toward her or break dishes when I didn't like something. It was only a matter of time before she got depressed.

In May 2004, my wife and I came to Seoul to help our first son who was running a restaurant there. We'd never been to any church, but our daughter-in-law (Kyeong Hee Jeon) is a good person, and when she asked, we just went with her.

The sermons of the Senior Pastor Rev. Jaerock Lee were easy to understand. I had good feelings whenever I went to church. While listening to the sermons, I felt very apologetic toward my wife. I quit smoking and drinking and tried to be a nice husband.

Then her depression disappeared and through prayer she was healed of a skin disease that she had for 10 years. I was also healed of peritonitis by prayer! Hallelujah!


The Turning Point

As our smiles were put back on our faces, we tried to share our happiness with the members of Kangdong local Sanctuary. I drove the church van for the seniors or those who are physically challenged. My wife prepared savory dishes every Sunday for the church members.



In late 2016, I started working as a carpenter again. While I was working, I almost fell from the 5th floor of a building.

I was working outside the building on the 5th floor, and the pile of lumber fell on my head and knocked me down. I held on to the steel frame on the wall, and with my legs that were spread on a board I tried to support my bodyweight but I couldn't. To my surprise another pile of lumber fell on my legs and it supported my bodyweight. I was miraculously rescued by my colleagues. The medical test showed I didn't have any injuries to my head or the legs.

One of my colleagues actually gave glory to God saying, "You always receive pastor's prayer every morning before work, and God really protected you!"

In 2018, we were blessed with a new house. In this year 2019, I got a new job even at the age of 75 and I am working very hard.

They are the great and mighty things that have taken place since I met the living God. I give all thanks and glory to God the Father for giving me hope of heaven in this life.
